Story #5: Woman to Woman

This story, written by my friend Calli, explains how R10 brought happiness to one woman, on Women’s Day.

“It was the day after South Africa celebrated its rare sighting of snow- some celebrated, some froze…

It was on the day that the world celebrated their women and their contribution to the world. Some celebrated, some froze.

Given the opportunity to share some happiness and warmth on this cold women’s day, I ventured to find a women in need of this valuable R10.

It took me no longer than 5 minutes to find her.

Standing on the street corner, with too much dignity to beg, but an obvious need to, this women was shocked, warmed, by the ten rand note. The experience was humbling. The simplicity and ease of the act was encouraging.”

Thanks to The Turquoise Room for the Women’s day pictures.
